Owner of Midwestern Cannabis Research. I reside in West-Central Illinois with my loving wife of over 35 years. Our journey continues with excitement as we embrace new adventures. Our home, where we raised our children and witnessed them start their own families, holds special memories. Among these are six wonderful grandchildren, who actively engage in sports and school.
Since my introduction to cannabis in 1969, I've recognized its remarkable healing potential and its historical significance. I pursued cannabis research in Colorado, Nevada, and California, focusing on cultivation methods and the emerging array of cannabinoids. Returning to Illinois, I completed my degrees in biology and botany.
As Illinois moved toward cannabis decriminalization, I pioneered one of the state's first cannabis degree programs at Western Illinois University. I've taught there until 2020, and now at Spoon River College, where I established a comprehensive cannabis certification program covering growth and processing. This equips students for careers in the thriving cannabis industry.
My journey then led me to become a USDA Certified Hemp Sampling Agent. This role allows me to collaborate with hemp producers and continue sharing valuable cannabis insights where they're needed most.
