I ordered over $6.5K in hemp insulation from Hempitecture. I drove all the way to Ohio to pick up my order and they did not have it in stock and ready for me as promised. Even though I ordered 6 weeks in advance and paid 4 weeks in advance. I tried calling them 1 week before my scheduled pickup and got no response. Then on the day of pickup, I tried reaching them for 2 hours before someone finally got back to me. (PS - I also tried several time last week to reach out and they didn't cancel or tell me the product wasn't ready). The warehouse they are using in Ohio said this happened twice last week to Hempitecture clients -- where they had to send trucks home empty with ZERO COMPENSATION.
All they agreed to do was refund my money and they won't even do it immediately. They are making me wait 2-4 days when the APP that they made me download and signup for, offered instant transfer for 1%. I mean they were SO CHEAP that they wouldn't even pay the $50 so I could get my money right away.
They are rude, disrespectful, and greedy beyond compare. They ended up costing me over $1500 counting labor, transportation costs sunk, etc. and I got NOTHING, not even an apology, in return.
Hemp construction materials are NOT YET READY -- this company for sure demonstrates that. DO NOT USE THEM!
Oh no, Stacey what a nightmare!! Supply and demand kinks are definitely a hallmark of the industry and I'm sorry it got you this time. Thank you for sharing, really good to know for all of us who want to use hemp in our projects and don't want delays or wasted effort.
