Hello IHGA! This is my first post here and wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and Foundation Seeds. I'm an Illinois native (Quincy) and have been working professionally in the Cannabis and Hemp industries since 2010. Currently I reside in Denver, CO and work for Foundation Seeds - a research-driven producer of hemp genetics propelled by historically proven parent lines. We currently have feminized seed at starts available for your planting needs. If you have any questions or are interested in learning more, you can contact us through our website or email me directly at andy@foundationagriscience.com
Our facility is based in Boulder, CO and our seeds are produced 100% indoors in a climate-controlled, pressurized and filtered facility to reduce the risk of unwanted cross-pollination commonly associated with field and greenhouse cannabis seed breeding. We perform third-party feminization, germination, and purity tests on all seed batches.
Foundation Seeds started development in 2012 when our founders originally bred the cultivars Spectrum and The Wife. These cultivars were selected for use in medical cannabis breeding programs to elevate CBD levels on high THC production cultivars. After seeing the potential for high-CBD and low-THC resin production, Spectrum and The Wife were included in the cannabis genome sequencing project lead by Colorado University in 2014. Results from this project indicated that both cultivars exhibited a high level of homozygosity. Since 2015, Spectrum and The Wife have been cultivated in every hemp growing season under the State Department of Agriculture guidelines across the United States. In 2019, Foundation Seeds formed to provide Spectrum, The Wife, and other CBD-rich progeny to hemp farmers around the globe.
We focus on breeding parental lines and providing farmers with a variety of seed lines that allow farmers to tailor their crops to their specific needs. From stabilized inbred lines for biomass production to terpene-rich hybrid varietals suitable for finished flower production, Foundation can help.
Our team brings together plant breeders and globally recognized scientific experts with decades of experience in traditional and advanced molecular breeding techniques on a variety of crops, including 20+ years of combined experience in hemp breeding and cultivation.
