2024 IL Hemp Lobby Day

The Illinois Hemp Growers Association (IHGA) invites our valued members and the public to stand united in our message to Illinois lawmakers: Hemp is here to stay!

Our voices play an essential role in making sure legislators grasp the significance of backing an industry that is at the forefront of sustainable agriculture, drives innovation in manufacturing, and strengthens local economies.

Beyond advocating for hemp's unique status, this rally invites lawmakers to step into the world of hemp farmers, processors, and business owners with the authentic experiences and genuine needs of our industry, shared by those who know it best - the Illinois Hemp Community!

-Meet the IL Hemp Community: get to know IHGA members, farmers, processors, business owners, and hemp industry advocates.

-Support  AG Innovation: explore industrial hemp as a leading crop in the effort to meet the food, fiber, fuel, feed, and climate demands of the future.

-Stand Behind Hemp Businesses: reject bills that impose unreasonable milligram caps, redefine hemp, create new licenses, or ban or criminalize naturally occurring cannabinoids.

How to get involved:

1. Reach out to your House and Senate Representatives: 

Click here to learn who your Illinois State Representatives are and send a message or call with a request to meet with us on April 17th!  We can assist with this part, let us know if you need help!

2. Know your story-  Use these storytelling resources to get familiar with your hemp story and how you can most effectively tell it.

3. RSVP and join us for 1 of 2 (or both!) prep calls on Thursday, April 4th and Monday, April 15th. Let us know which one when you register and we will add you to the list!
